Program Manager
Location: Brooklyn, NY
What I do:
My role at TFC is to manage programs year round, as well as monitor students’ progress.
Professional Experience:
The Arts: Professional Dancer, Pole Dance instructor, Artistic Coach & Choreographer and Producer and in Artful Design with an architectural firm whose expertise is in restoring, revitalizing and reusing historic buildings and sites by providing: Office administration, Customer Support, Problem resolution and Communications expertise.
I have 10+ years of instructing pole dance, dance, movement and artistic coaching. During these years I have interacted with hundreds of women each year who don’t have a professional dance background. My focus was (and still is) to teach them how to express themselves through movement, how to progressively build strength, and to support a nurturing environment for women to build confidence and be proud with what their bodies are capable of.
Three years ago I was ready to take on new skills and re-route my career path. I ended up at a large architect company where I worked closely with CAO and IT to help execute work flow. I took on the roles mentioned above which also included that of the Intranet Liaison where I frequently collaborated with various staff members and head of departments to improve and maintain efficient access to information.
In addition, I have in the past co-founded the first pole dance organization in the US that legitimized pole dancing as a sport, produced various independent films, and created my own variety and dance shows.
I love working with people and helping them to figure out what works for them, whether it is to create a dance solo, what physical exercise to do, how to best prepare for a show, or what program to sign up for. My heart’s desire is to work in the field of wellness to support people who want to improve their lives or those whose lives they touch, for a company that aligns with the way that I live and what I believe in. I am most grateful to contribute my heart and talents to The Flourishing Center and CAPP Community from which I was in the 1st CAPP Graduating class in 2013.
My Story:
I am a New Yorker at heart, with a Swedish core and Indonesian genes. There is an inner nomad in me that I hold dear as I feel home pretty much anywhere in the world.
Morning Ritual:
Meditation, pole dancing or any type of physical activity preferably outdoors, shot of water with apple cider vinegar, coffee. (Not necessarily in that order).
A Little Known Fact About Me…
I sort my apps on my phone by color, I prefer left-over food, and always read the last chapter of a book first.
