Senior Director of Operations & Strategic Business Development
Location: Albany, New York
What I do:
I work with all members of the TFC team to assist with organizational operations and project management. I also work with The Center for Positive Education (CPE) and The Center for Positive Business (CPB) to explore opportunities for and establish partnerships with educational institutions and a wide variety of different types of businesses for whom TFC, CPE, and CPB offer transformative consulting services.
My professional background is in the field of Higher Education. Throughout my career in Higher Ed I held a variety of roles in Student Services, Academic Affairs, and Information Technology Services. The work I found most fulfilling while in the field of Higher Education was when I had the opportunity to work directly with students helping them to clarify and make plans to pursue their educational and career goals.
I was born and raised in Suffern, NY. While in high school I was involved with a peer leadership program and a masonic youth leadership organization. After high school, I attended college at SUNY Cortland where I earned my bachelor’s degree in Psychology. While in college I got involved with several student leadership organizations. During my senior year of college I realized I could make working in Higher Education my career! Upon graduating from SUNY Cortland, I made a big move out to Western PA and enrolled at Indiana University of Pennsylvania where I worked as a graduate assistant for the Office of Housing and Residence Life and earned a master’s degree in Student Affairs Higher Education. After completing graduate school, I settled in northern NJ for 7 years and worked at a public institution of Higher Education in a variety of roles in Residence Life, Leadership Programs, and Fraternity and Sorority Life. After 7 years in NJ, I made another big move to the Capital Region of NY, to pursue a new job and to relocate to be closer to friends. I’ve lived in the Capital Region of NY for the past 6 years and I’m lucky to have a wonderful network of supportive friends in the area that I get to enjoy spending time with on a regular basis. During the past 6 years in the Capital Region I’ve worked at two different community colleges in Academic Affairs and Information Technology Services.
My discovery of Positive Psychology was prompted by a constant yearning for something more that I’d been experiencing through my career in Higher Ed. I always liked my work in Higher Ed, for the post part, but I felt like the impact I could make while working one-on-one with students was so limited. I wanted to do something where I could make a BIGGER IMPACT. My constant search for something more led me to the discovery of Positive Psychology in early 2019. Then, a friend told me about The Flourishing Center. I immediately began devouring all the content on the website and applied for CAPP. I enrolled in CAPP.77 in October 2019 and the rest is history! Since then I’ve also completed TFC’s Applied Positive Psychology Coaching Certification (APPC) program, the Mastermind & Mentoring Incubator (iMMi) program, and the Certified Positive Psychology Consulting (CPPC) program. Most recently I have also served as a facilitator for the Better Than Before (BTB) program which was a very special and beautiful experience. I have met the most caring, supportive, and inspiring network of friends and colleagues through my involvement with TFC and I’m looking forward to a fulfilling future as a part of the TFC team!
Coffee, kitty snuggles, listening to affirmations for self-love while getting myself ready for work, a yummy breakfast, followed by some upbeat music to get myself moving for the day.
A Little Known Fact About Me…
I have moved over 20 times since I graduated from college and I’m REALLY looking forward to putting down some roots in the home I moved into during the Fall of 2020.
