Erin Nichole is a positive psychology based coach, facilitator, and healer who is passionate about supporting the growth and transformation of individuals and organizations. She holds certifications in coaching, yoga, and reiki, and works at the intersection of Western science and Eastern wisdom to help individuals and organizations flourish.
Erin’s thesis research at the University of East London focused on the relationship between coaching, transformational learning, and flourishing; she continues to be profoundly interested in understanding how actively engaging in personal growth influences wellbeing.
Erin has been on faculty with The Flourishing Center since 2013, and currently facilitates Certificate in Applied Positive Psychology program in Dallas, TX and Raleigh, NC. She loves her work, and is honored to share, play, learn, grow, and love with the people that positive psychology brings together.
It was not a ‘decision’ for me to pursue a career in positive psychology. As soon as I learned about the field, I knew it was my path to follow. I had always been fascinated with trying to understand what this weird messy complex business of being human is all about – I studied history to learn about the power of story in shaping understanding, and studied psychology to better understand the power of the mind. However, neither field really seemed concerned with the questions I most wanted to ask. It’s important to understand how we got to where we currently are, but what about focusing on how we want to grow from here? And just as important, how do we do move forwards with success and happiness?
Just as I’d decided that yoga and Eastern philosophies would be the best places to explore these questions, positive psychology was offered for the first time at my university. After my first class, I let my teacher know my life path had just changed and I would be dedicating my career to learning about positive psychology and sharing the science behind optimal human functioning.
Since then, I’ve been passionate about expanding my understanding of what contributes to flourishing through the lens of positive psychology. When we ask different questions, we receive different answers. I am grateful to be able to do work in pursuit of asking, “What’s good?”

Words of Wisdom:
The only thing predictable about my morning ritual is that it is unpredictable…although NPR and cocoa tea often figure somewhere in the mix.
A Little Known Fact About Me…
I can ride a unicycle. Yes, I was in a bonafide unicycle club. Thanks, Mom!
What Students Are Saying:
“There aren’t words to describe how much the CAPP program has meant to me. It feels as though I’ve been given another chance to get things right (sort of a life mulligan). I completed the Post-CAPP Questionnaires but felt like I wanted to express a more personal sentiment. Thank you for all that you and all the folks at the Flourishing Center do. You help make the world a better place every day.

“When I considered joining CAPP, I first was interested in who would be facilitating the class as I knew it could make or break the class experience. Erin has absolutely elevated my experience and has been a phenomenal guide along this journey. There is no question Erin has fully assimilated the concepts and has a deep understanding of what she is teaching which is very important. What takes the class to the next level, in my opinion, is her authenticity and her ability to manage the class and the participants. She doesn’t drop in energy from Saturday morning to Sunday afternoon and makes sure she keeps us going as well! I have thoroughly enjoyed working with Erin and she has done a wonderful job!”

“PP has literally changed my life. I figured that once I signed up for the class that I would get some ideas/tools that I could sparingly use but what I have received is an incredible overhaul. A great deal of credit is because of the information/material and a large part of that change MUST be credited with the teaching/sharing style of Erin. It is without a doubt in my military mind that Erin made information that’s already pregnant with potential to be birthed fresh and anew in my being. It is one thing to be inclined to do a thing but she is simply built to teach and express PP. She simply KNOWS what a person is struggling to express and gently fills in the gap to build a bridge of connection and understanding. Sometimes you can ‘finish a person’s sentence’ but it’s almost like Erin is able to hold a person’s hand as they write their own paragraph. A humble, yet masterful teacher. I simply am thankful to have sat at her feet!!!”
