Change Agent Accelerator
Location: Syracuse, NY
What I do:
I support change agents around the globe, to help identify how TFC programming can help accelerate their growth and their unique way of bringing positive change to the world.
Professional Experience:
Along with my role at The Flourishing Center, I own a coaching, consulting, and training company called Northbound www.headnorthbound.com. Northbound’s mission is to provide the tools and training to set its clients on an ever-northbound trajectory, to continually move north of neutral to a place of thriving. I hold a BS in Human Development from Cornell University, a Certificate in Applied Positive Psychology and a Positive Psychology Coaching Certification from the Flourishing Center. I am also certified to run Flourishing Skills Groups, a transformative group learning experience.
My Story:
I believe my path to positive psychology began at a very young age, with an inborn tendency towards optimism, a love of testing my own growth limits and the ability to always see the best in others. This led me to pursue a degree in Human Development from Cornell University, knowing I wanted to better understand the human condition and find ways to helps others live their best lives. Although not my initial plan, the skills I learned helped me pursue a successful 13-year sales career with a leading analytics software company. I had the opportunity to travel extensively, hosting events and visiting some of the largest companies in the world. But ultimately, I knew I would end up in a role where I would help others to actualize their potential. That role started to take shape in 2011, when I stumbled across a TED talk about positive psychology. It was a true revelatory moment (insert skies opening up and beams of white light) and I knew I would slowly pave my own path in the field.
Morning Ritual:
It’s always in a state of refinement but it currently looks something like: Meditate> Coffee> Bullet Journal> Writing> try not to wake my kids before 7am
A Little Known Fact About Me…
I love to draw and have done so for 2 decades. It wasn’t until recently that anyone outside of my home actually saw my drawings. Last year I designed a shirt for my CAPP cohort as part of a surprise for our instructor, Louis. It was a trip to see everyone walking around with my art on their shirt.
