What's the worst part of the COVID-19 pandemic?
It's not the death rates, the economy crash, or the rate of spread.
It's the unknown!
How long will this last? Two weeks? Six months? A year?
What if it could be over in 30 days? And, what if after those 30 days, you were physically, mentally, emotionally and socially stronger than before?
I'm inviting you to join me and a group of like-minded and like-hearted people for a positive psychology approach to dealing with this crisis. Together, we will leverage the portion of our life that we do have control over: our thoughts, feelings, and actions. I'll guide through a process and support you EVERY DAY in getting through, what might be, one of the hardest things you've ever dealt with.

If you've ever done a multi-day fast, trained for a race, or done a nutritional reset like the Whole 30 Diet, you know that one of the keys that gets you through those times is having a countdown!
"But how do you know it will be over in 30 days?"
I don't... I'm not a psychic! But I am a positive psychology and well-being expert.
I specialize in the science of how the mind and body tick. I've spent close to 15 years teaching well-being and resilience skills, and training practitioners all over the world to do the same. I know how to help you hack your mind and your body to get you through to the other side of this.
As a Master Certified Coach, I know how to help you craft out a vision of a future version of you that will walk out of your no-longer-quarantined-home better than before this started. A physically stronger you, with a healthier immune system, increased control over your nervous system, awareness of your breath, stronger lungs, a greater sense of gratitude, stronger ties to the people that matter most.... is just a shortlist of the options!
And, beyond helping you imagine it, I know how to help you take the actions to make that happen.
One of the first things we do is recognize that thoughts impact how you feel and what you do. Counting down helps you tell your brain, "We can get through this," and "Hang in there, we only have 10 days left." It keeps you focused on the task at hand, rather than worrying about what might be.
Fear and anxiety are emotions that biologically make us want to retreat, runaway and hide. While this is a natural response when faced with a difficult circumstance, it is not the only option. You can learn to control your fear response and focus on problem-solving and taking action.
So, the first part of this challenge is... We trick our brains. We countdown that the heart of the pandemic will be over on April 26th.
"But what if it's not?!"
I'll teach you how to soothe your worrying mind and have it recognize that we'll cross that bridge when we get there. If at the end of 30 days, we're still quarantined... we'll commit to another set of days as a community. If it's done sooner, we'll celebrate together. The key is, I'm going to teach you how to master your emotions and actions through your mind and body.

I will host a 1-hour gathering EVERY DAY for 30 days starting Saturday, March 28th at 11 am ET.
If you're like most people that I know that are quarantined, you've already lost track of what day of the week it is. You've lost your daily routine, your commute, and your live community. You're already thinking that you're going to lose your mind. These daily sessions will give you centering, structure, hope, positivity and resilience skills.
And, while I may be the vitamin, I'm not the secret sauce. The secret sauce is the people that are drawn to a community like this and are up for a challenge like that. These are people that don't want to be a victim of their circumstance, and, they want to be of support to others.
What happens on the Zoom calls?
I will guide you through a series of activities to focus you for the day. Each meeting will have a combination of reflective writing, conversations with people in breakout groups, visualization, mindfulness, movement, and play!
Every day, I will teach you 1 self-care strategy to help you stay mentally and physically fit. We'll cover everything from eye-stretching exercises to counter the negative impact of eye strain... (Needing eye-glasses post-COVID-19 is not a #BetterThanBefore!)... To breathing exercises for strengthening your lung capacity in case you God forbid get COVID-19. And, simple tricks for increased productivity and vitality throughout your day.
All the meetings are recorded, if you can't make it live to the calls, you can still participate in the value of the community. We'll have discussions, celebrations, and check-ins on Facebook.
Every day, you'll get to meet a different fascinating and caring human on the planet through the breakout group activities. Every day, you'll commit to 1 personal action that you will take towards a Better Than Before you. And, every day, we will do 1 small act as a community.
But wait... There's more...
When you sign up we'll first take your temperature. Not your corona test temperature, but a quick measurement of your life (5 min). I'll ask you to pick 1 behavior that you will commit to improving and doing 30 of in 30 days. (Mine will be push-ups.) Together, we'll kick off Day 1 with one of the behavior (in my case... 1 push-up). On Day 2, we'll do two. Until, you're doing 30 whatever the behavior is.
We're going to help you "WANT WHAT YOU WANT TO WANT!"
If you're not already here... you'll get there soon... You're mind is going to fill with things that you "want to want" but you "don't actually want." You'll want to want to exercise... but you won't want to exercise. You'll want to want to get up and make a healthy meal for yourself... but with just you around... you'll instead want to eat some of the junk food you have stored that's easier to access.
All of this is normal, human, hibernating behavior. The only problem is, you're not a bear.
And you don't want Covid-19 to turn into the Freshman 15!
It's not easy. But it's not impossible. If there is one thing that people are learning the most through this crisis, it's the basic tenant of positive psychology which is, "Other people matter!" The key to coming out of the COVID-19 Crisis - Better Than Before - is not isolating while you socially distance and find innovative ways to learn, grow and prosper.
